Please remember Wella comes 1 full level darker than other lines. So if you are wanting a level 7 you should buy a level 8.There’s a reason why Koleston is called Perfect . The first cream hair color in 1950, the first truly personalized hair colorant today: Koleston Perfect's unbeatable quality has never ceased to evolve. Never think that a hair color is truly "permanent" ... all hair color fades so there is never a reason to be worried about the word permanent. This is the one and only hair color you should use if you are trying to cover gray hair above 25% Gray.
You take a NEUTRAL "N" in 1 level above what you want to be...... and mix it with the your tone. If you are fighting Orange or Blorange you would always use a MATT color. Because Matt Tones are based in orange and that will work to counter the BLORANGE in your hair.
Lets say you are trying to achieve a level 7 and you have 30% gray and are fighting some Blorange. (Taylor Swift's color)
( who by the way I would bet big money she doesn't color her hair except for a few tip drips of blonde on the long ends!) and you are fighting that BLORANGE/orange/Gold....
you would take 8/2 + 8/0 + 20Volume on your base (roots)let that sit 20 minutes then apply just 8/2 + 10 Volume to the lengths if the Blorange is subtle OR..........
8/2 + 20Volume to the lengths if the tone is medium to strong Blorange (brass-gold-orange)
